ivasmigins(verified on Roblox)

Ivan ArcosFounder & Senior Engineer

I've been building on Roblox since 2018, and the games I've shipped have passed 1.5 billion visits between them, from The Mimic at 1.3 billion to Wonderland, which I co-founded and led to a 72,000 concurrent-user peak. I build systems for live games at scale, plus low-level systems, drivers and embedded firmware.

About

I'm a senior Roblox engineer and have been building on the platform since 2018. My focus is systems for live games at scale, from client/server architecture through to backends and data systems built to survive heavy traffic, launches and live updates.

I'm equally comfortable leading a team and working inside one, and I'm easy to work with. Pressure is where I do my best work, whether that's a launch day, a live incident, or an update going out to tens of thousands of players at once.

I spent most of my career writing every line by hand. Since agents got good I've gone all in on them, but only inside a process built to catch what they get wrong. I've set out how that works further down.

Alongside that I'm a 4th-year Computer Science student, working on low-level systems like device drivers, embedded firmware and concurrency in C.

AI Workflow

AI is central to how I work day to day. I run Orca as my agentic development environment, with Claude and ChatGPT as coding agents, and delegate real work to them, from feature implementation and test cases through to UI, boilerplate and documentation. What keeps it trustworthy is the process around it, not the agents themselves.

How an agent-built feature ships

  1. 01

    Project instruction files

Every repo carries the context an agent needs before it writes a line: conventions, architecture and the things it must not do.

  2. 02

    Plan review before implementation

The agent proposes a plan and I review it first. Catching a wrong approach here costs minutes instead of a day.

  3. 03

    One task per pull request

Scope stays small enough to reason about, so a bad change is easy to spot and cheap to revert.

  4. 04

    Verification before review

The agent runs the test suite, checks the build and exercises the feature in the running product, then fixes what it broke. Reading code never proves that it works.

  5. 05

    Automated review

Greptile or a reviewer agent does the first pass, catching the mechanical problems before a human looks.

  6. 06

    Manual code review

I do the final pass myself, judging quality, performance and usability. Nothing ships on an agent's word alone.

The result is that I can move fast on unfamiliar code, spot problems early and give actionable feedback that keeps delivery moving.
